The sun may be out but we are still very much in the trenches. At this time, we have over 8,000 members out of power and they all want to know when will the power be restored. While we cannot give you an exact time on when your power will be restored, we can offer this information.
• Out of 12,409 meters, 8,093 of those are currently without power
• We know of over 50 broken poles but suspect as our crews continue to inspect every mile of line leading to your homes and businesses we will find more.
• We have contract crews here to assist us now and have requested more that we hope to see soon.
• There were some troubles with SmartHub outages this morning. Those have been resolved and you can check the status of your outage or report any new outages now.
• Some members have received phone calls from the automated system stating that their power has been restored when in fact it has not. If there is damage on your property or the line leading to your property but the area surrounding you can be restored, we will restore those that we can. By default, you may receive a phone call. We understand the frustration that this may cause but please take it as a good sign that we are working in your area and hope to have your home back up very soon. Please call the automated line at 843-538-5800 or view your SmartHub account, in this case, to make sure that your account still shows the outage as it appropriately should.
While you may not see a CEC truck in your driveway, rest assured they are working to restore your power both in the field and in the office. We expect to be working around the clock this weekend to restore power.
There are many layers to storm restorations and in an outage of this magnitude, it does take time. Please be patient. Please be understanding. As always our office staff, engineers, right-of-way crews, and linemen appreciate all of your prayers!

We are also working closely with Santee Cooper as they are addressing transmission line damages affecting many of our members.
Reminders - Please stay away from all downed powerlines. DO NOT trust that they are not energized. Electricity can be silent, has no smell, is not visible and it is deadly.
