Coastal Electric Cooperative would like to invite your fourth and fifth-grade students to write and illustrate a children’s book about electric energy for an opportunity to win cash prizes, to have their books published & distributed throughout the state, and recognition at the SC State House!   The Children’s Book Challenge is a great way to engage your students with a cross-curricular project that correlates to state standards.  The 2024–2025 theme is “Staying Safe Around Electricity.”  The registration deadline to participate in this challenge is Friday, November 22, 2024, and the deadline for book submissions to the co-op is Friday, February 7, 2025.   We will offer blank paper books for the students or they can even create an online book through StoryJumper!

Teachers are also eligible for cash prizes should their student(s) win!

Two children hold framed certificates on stone steps, outside a historic building with tall columns. They appear happy and proud.           A person holds a certificate and drawing outside the South Carolina State House, standing on steps with large columns in the background.
