To safely provide diversified, innovative energy and related services to its customers consistent with
sound business practices,
while always acting in a community-building leadership role.

About Us

What is a Cooperative?

Unlike most other businesses, your electric cooperative is a locally-owned, member-controlled, non-profit association.

Our History, Past to Present

CEC was organized in 1940 as a member-owned non-profit to be governed by a Board of Trustees elected by members.

Cooperative Principles

We're guided by seven internationally recognized principles like those adopted by one of the first co-ops in 1844.
