Re:            T.J. Gard­ner Fundrais­er

 As many of you are aware, Black Riv­er Elec­tric Coop­er­a­tive lost line­man, T.J. Gard­ner, to a trag­ic on-the-job acci­dent last Tues­day.  T.J. was 34 years old and leaves behind a wife and two chil­dren, ages 13 and 5.

Our coop­er­a­tive com­mu­ni­ty is small and tight.  Tragedies like this remind us of the dan­gers we face dai­ly, not only rock­ing this com­mu­ni­ty to its core but offer­ing an oppor­tu­ni­ty to bless those in their dark­est days.

Statewide is col­lect­ing dona­tions under the S.C. Coop­er­a­tives Care Foun­da­tion (IRS 501(c)(3)) in an effort to pro­vide each of T.J.’s chil­dren a major gift toward their edu­ca­tion.  If you are inter­est­ed in con­tribut­ing, there will be an enve­lope in Samantha’s office until this Fri­day, Sep­tem­ber 22^nd, or if you pre­fer to send a check direct­ly to the foun­da­tion (out­side dona­tions are wel­come), please send it to:
