Here are a few recent updates from NRECA:
- NRECA is continuing work to ensure the Trump administration understands the importance of reliable and affordable electricity and continued smart investments in electric co-ops and co-op communities.
- NRECA CEO Jim Matheson recently met with EPA Administrator Zeldin to highlight electric co-op priorities, including the need to repeal the EPA’s power plant rule and other regulations. Matheson also attended Secretary Rollins’ welcome session at USDA.
- NRECA was among the very first organizations to meet with both newly confirmed Cabinet members––a sign of the association’s continued credibility and capability.
- NRECA is preparing for the 2025 Legislative Conference, April 27–30 in Washington, D.C., and more than 1,470 electric co-op leaders have registered for the event, which is on pace to exceed recent years.
- The annual Legislative Conference is the best opportunity for electric co-op leaders to engage directly with policymakers and advocate for priorities that benefit co-ops and local communities.
- Both the House and Senate are scheduled to be in session during this year’s conference.
